MAXIM ULTRA Character Intros: Roeger
The author’s best attempt at capturing Roeger.
ROEGER - Roeger is a boxy robot with gangly limbs and has been with Maxim Ultra since Max first left Earth. Originally in the employ of Max’s father, Roeger became Max’s best friend and protector when the boy was young. Roeger is an emote, or a robot with emotions, and he wears them on his sleeve…if he wore clothes. It has been Roeger’s dream to be a comedian, but sadly, he wasn’t programmed for comedy.
Just based off his design, Roeger would need to be a motion-capture character, but I have no idea who would perform the voice. I really like what Alan Tudyk did with K-2SO in Rogue One, but Roeger’s voice is gentler than that. I think Tudyk could pull it off, though. He’s a talented voice artist and has a knack for playing robots—he was also Sonny in I, Robot.
